MACA Mission Statement:

The Mid-Atlantic Collectors Association is a professional organization which works to monitor legislation, and provides information, services and education for the profitability of our members firms.

MACA is a professional association comprised of collection agency members and collection attorneys located in Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and the District of Columbia.

We are committed to elevating and maintaining a high and ethical standard of collection service, and we promote the honorable and fair dealings of collection agencies with each other, their clients, and the general public.

This dedication extends toward fostering and promotion of respect for and confidence in collection agencies, to regulate practices, prescribe ethics and enforce proper conduct among our members.

MACA has had tremendous influence on state laws affecting the collection industry.

Among these accomplishments have been the establishment of the Pennsylvania Debt Collection Trade Practice Regulation (1980), Amending of the Pennsylvania Goods and Services Installment Sales Act (1982), the Pennsylvania Bad Check Law of 1987, and The Pennsylvania Right of Assignment Law of 1990.

MACA is a unit of the ACA International and offers a comprehensive package of services ranging from Forwarding Service Exchange, Insurance and Bonding Programs, to Education Tools and Seminars. As a member of the MACA/ACA you'll receive unlimited access to Instructional Teaching Materials to train collection personnel including Telephone Collection Techniques, Skiptracing, Profit Control, and sales.

When appropriate, MACA is called upon by the national organization (ACA) for input on rules and regulations affecting the industry as a whole.

While also serving on the MACA Board of Directors, our ACA Directors ensure that the interests of members located in Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and the District of Columbia are covered during national debates.
